Announces the Election of Officers for 2006
Sunrise, Florida – On March 19, 2006, the Cornwall
College Alumni Association, Inc. general membership elected
Board of Directors and Officers for a one-year term beginning
immediately.
Those elected to officer positions were:
Lance Gibbs, President
Phillip Wallace, Vice-President
Fidel Dhana, CPA, Treasurer
Dr. Paul Harry Benjamin, Fundraising Director
Onell McCarthy, Secretary
Deon Reid, Membership Director
Albert Lettman, Alumni Relations Director
Desmond Marsh, Public Relations Director
Ledger Kellier, Fred McLeod, Jeff McLeod, Esq., Michael Nedrick
and Colin Ramsay, as Directors-at-large
“I am very pleased to see the younger alumni taking
leadership roles in the organization” said outgoing
president Albert Lettman. “Seven of the thirteen directors
elected, graduated in the 1980s include the six most senior
positions on our board.”
Commenting on his election as president, Lance Gibbs said
“We want to thank our outgoing president, and his administration
for all their hard work. We are going to set some aggressive
goals for 2006 and hope to take this association to the next
level.”
Building on those comments, Phillip Wallace the new vice
president said, "Our great school is in dire need of
assistance. Therefore we need the support of all Cornwallians
and friends of the school who live in South Florida. Working
together we can return Cornwall College to its former glory."
About Us
The Cornwall College Alumni Association is one of
the oldest continuously operating Jamaican High School alumni
associations in South Florida. The group is focused primarily
on raising funds for the high school in Montego Bay, Jamaica
and promoting the interest of its alumni. Meetings are held
the third Sunday of every month. All alumni, former teachers
and friends of the school are welcome. For more information
