Drive by Fish Fry and Raffle a success

The Cornwall College Alumni Association of South Florida staged its first event since the outbreak of Covid 19 on Saturday, March 27, 2021. The event was a Drive-By Fish Fry and Raffle that was held in the parking lot of the Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church located at 2801 N University Drive, Hollywood FL.

Our Association relies very heavily on the successful staging of events to raise funds for various projects and scholarships at Cornwall College our Alma Mater. The need for assistance at Cornwall College has never been greater.

This event was the first of its kind held by the Association and was a resounding success. The Fish Fry was completely sold out days in advance. There were over 200 orders, in addition, to support for the raffle as well as donations from many persons. Patrons were treated to succulent and flavorful fish prepared by chefs Gary and Lance as well as bammy and fried dumplings prepared by Melvin.

The occasion was a true Drive-By. It was organized to observe social distancing and meals were collected without having to leave the vehicle. Provision was also made to facilitate some persons who choose to enjoy their meal at the location. We arranged a few chairs and tables on the grounds of the Church Hall and a few patrons were able to sit and enjoy their meal in a great outdoor atmosphere while enjoying relaxing music in the background.

On behalf of the board and membership, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who supported this event. Your support and participation ensured a very successful outcome. Many thanks also to the planning team as well and those who assisted in making the experience one to remember.

As we continue to deal with the restrictions and life adjustments imposed by the pandemic, we will seek more opportunities to stage other fundraising events in a safe and responsible manner. We look forward to emerging from the pandemic and being able to resume events such as our Family Fun Day and Dinner Dance Gala.
